私は、安全な場所というものは私たちの想像の中にしか存在しないのではないかと考えています。私にとって安全な場所とは、日本の家とポーランドの家のあいだにあるようなものです。「Between Days」はまさに、その“あいだの空間”をイメージした作品であり、二つの世界をつなぐものです。
この作品は、2003年の作品「Journey to the East（東方への旅／Podróż na wschód）」にも言及しています。この作品では、日本とポーランドの二つの地図を貼り合わせ、その上にドローイングを描きました。
また、2004年の作品「Realistic Landscape Painting in Second Dimension」にも関連しています。この作品も地図を着想源としており、黒い形は家を上空から見た風景を表しています。

I think that the safe places exist only in our imagination. I imagine a safe place as something between a Japanese and a Polish home. The work ‘Between Days’ is precisely an image of such a space in between, a connection between two worlds.
The work refers to the 2003 work ‘Journey to the East’ (Podróż na wschód"), where the drawing was created on two maps of Japan and Poland glued together.
It refers also to the 2004 work ‘Realistic Landscape Painting in Second Dimension’, also inspired by cartography (the black figures are views of houses from above).
自己紹介
1977 ポーランド生まれ 2002 ベルリン芸術大学大学院修了。ポズナンとベルリンを拠点に活動。絵画やドローイングによる視覚芸術と音楽・音の関係性をテーマにしたインスタレーションを多数展開。現在、ポズナン芸術大学教授。
